Cement

Cement roof tiles are a great choice if you are looking for a strong and versatile roof tile. They become stronger over time. However, as your roof becomes exposed to all the extreme elements of the weather, cement roof tiles fade and are prone to cracking, chipping and the cement will often shift under the ridges. A Cement roof restoration is a great way to restore the beauty of your roof whilst helping to protect it from the elements. If a cement roof is maintained in a good condition it can last a lifetime.

A cement roof restoration involves

  • Replace any broken or chipped tiles with tiles to match the existing roof
  • Repair all mortar to ridges
  • Inspect the valleys for rust – if rust is found we will discuss whether the valleys need to be changed
  • Wash the roof using a high pressure cleaner
  • Apply a 3 coat painting system which includes one coat of sealer or primer and 2 coats of paint.

Terracotta

You can’t go past a terracotta roof tile if you are looking for a strong and very attractive tile for your roof. However, if not maintained correctly a teracotta roof can have many problems. Your terracotta roof may require a restoration if you find it has loose cement, broken tiles, moss and lichen build up, or simply has lost its striking appearance.

A Terracotta roof restoration involves

  • Replace any broken tiles with tiles to match the existing roof
  • Repair all mortar to ridges
  • Inspect the valleys for rust – if rust is found we will discuss whether the valleys need to be changed
  • Wash the roof using a high pressure cleaner to remove moss and algae
  • Apply a flexipoint coating to all ridges
